The Bundeswehr replaces the P8 with the Czech CZ P-10 (P13). Learn about the €56 million framework agreement, technical specs, and the POL-TEC supply contract.

The German Armed Forces have officially approved the integration of the CZ P-10 service pistol under the "Pistole querschnittlich" (P13) modernization program, marking the formal replacement of the legacy P8 sidearm. The German firm POL-TEC GmbH & Co. KG has been appointed as the official supplier, providing weaponry manufactured by the Czech company Česká zbrojovka (CZ). This procurement is based on a framework agreement for the delivery of up to 203,000 CZ P13 pistols with a maximum total valuation of €56 million, with an initial purchase of 65,000 units and associated logistical support worth approximately €19 million already confirmed. This is reported by NewsToday24 editorial team, citing militarnyi.

The designated P13 is a specialized version of the CZ P-10 C OR (Optics Ready) model, featuring a Flat Dark Earth finish. As a modular, striker-fired 9×19 mm handgun, it is engineered for high durability in extreme field conditions and temperature fluctuations. In addition to the combat-ready units, the contract includes dedicated training pistols and various Radar 1957 holster systems, ranging from Level 2 and Level 3 security to concealed-carry versions. The P13 initiative began in late 2024 through a competitive tender process where technical compliance and the lowest price were the primary selection criteria. In the final stage of the competition, the Czech manufacturer successfully outperformed bids from Austria’s Glock and Slovenia’s Arex, securing the role as the future standard sidearm provider for German troops.
